Infants
6 Weeks to 15 Months
Children are growing and adapting at rapid rates so our staff is guided to be flexible and assess each child individually. Our placement in a specific program is based on developmental assessments and not specifically by chronological age. Although example ages are listed as a “guideline” for each of our programs, promotion to the next program age group is up to the discretion of Crossroads Daycare and not necessarily by your child’s birth date.
At Crossroads Daycare we know that trusting someone with your little ones is difficult thing to do. Our nurturing infants program is based in love and affection to ensure that every child receives the person care and attention that need at this age. We want to help these little ones develop trust for the world around them. Working closely with each parent’s/guardian’s request, every infant’s schedule for feeding, changing, and sleeping is fulfilled as the child needs. Our preschool likes to be flexible as the child’s needs change with age and will keep an open communication with the parents.
Nap Time
There will be daily naps or rest periods for all the children enrolled in childcare. A parent/guardian may provide a small blanket or similar item to stay at daycare for their child to nap with. A napping cot and sheet will be provided for each child. The child-owned napping items must be taken home weekly for cleaning. We ask that a child not bring more than one item to sleep with and all items for napping must fit in the child’s cubby. Parents please be mindful of a child that is allowed to sleep in too late may not be ready to nap at the designated time and therefore, may create a disturbance for others. This can be grounds for termination if it is deemed to be on-going. A change in the parent/guardian’s schedule does not change a child’s routine and schedule at preschool.
