Preschoolers learning and playing together in a bright classroom

Preschool / Pre-K

3–5 years • Year-round • Daily, 3-Day, 4-Day, 5-Day options

Play-based, faith-integrated learning for 3–5 year olds

Individualized placement • Whole-child development

Children are growing and adapting at rapid rates, so our staff remains flexible and assesses each child individually. Placement in a specific program is based on developmental observations—not only chronological age. Ages noted are guidelines; promotion to the next age group is at the discretion of Crossroads Daycare and not necessarily tied to a birthday.

Classes & Schedule

Preschool (3–4 Years)

Our Preschool program is creative and nurturing, helping children build warm relationships with teachers and begin the fun of making new friends. We follow the Indiana Early Learning Foundations (Indiana DOE), with an emphasis on listening and speaking skills, as well as number recognition and early number relationships.

  • Potty training: Required and children should be independent in the restroom.
  • Schedule options: Daily, 3-Day, 4-Day, 5-Day (class times vary by classroom).
  • Center hours: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Pre-K (4–5 Years)

Pre-K invites children to take on age-appropriate responsibilities in exciting new ways. Students explore new areas like computers, sports, and large motor activities. Each day is intentionally planned by skilled teachers to cultivate self-confidence, friendships, and kindergarten readiness.

  • Potty training: Child must be fully potty trained.
  • Schedule options: Daily, 3-Day, 4-Day, 5-Day (class times vary by classroom).
  • Year-round with developmentally appropriate transitions.

Curriculum & Daily Rhythm

Indiana Early Learning Foundations • Joyful discovery

We blend play-based academics (early literacy, math, science/STEM) with social-emotional growth, faith-integrated moments, and plenty of movement. Children rotate through centers that develop attention, creativity, problem-solving, and friendships—all aligned with the Indiana Early Learning Foundations.

  • Circle Time: songs, calendar, language, shared stories.
  • Learning Centers: literacy, math/manipulatives, art, dramatic play, STEM.
  • Outdoor/Gross-Motor: playground and gym games; large-motor skills are a focus in Pre-K.
  • Snack & Lunch: healthy habits and community time.
  • Quiet/Nap for full-day students as developmentally needed (see Nap Time policy).
  • Faith Moments: simple truths and character formation.

Nap Time

There are daily naps or rest periods for all children enrolled in childcare.

  • We provide a napping cot and sheet for each child.
  • Families may send one small comfort item/blanket that fits in the child’s cubby; items go home weekly for cleaning.
  • Please note: a child who routinely sleeps in very late may not be ready to nap at the designated time and could disrupt others—ongoing disruptions may lead to disenrollment.
